    Understanding a Social Enterprise's mission, vision, and core values is crucial to its success. Stakeholders are key to the functioning of Social Enterprises, as there is often a lack of close cooperation between Social Enterprises and different stakeholders. The module presents the role of stakeholders, examples of stakeholders and how stakeholders can be mapped and categorised according to their relevance to the Social Enterprise.

    Furthermore, a Social Enterprise's internal and external communication is defined based on the knowledge of its stakeholders. Social enterprises need to know communication tools and channels to communicate successfully. Therefore, the communication tools most commonly used in Social Enterprises to communicate with stakeholders are presented. The importance of selecting the appropriate communication channel according to the target group for communication is also highlighted. Key challenges are also highlighted so Social Enterprises can prepare for them and deal with them effectively.

    The final part of the module focuses on the importance of designing a communication strategy, which is the foundation for successful and sustainable communication with different stakeholders. This includes the development of a communication strategy, examples of content and how to communicate social impact in practice.

  • This unit highlights the role and importance of developing an appropriate mission, vision, and core values to establish and consolidate the identity of a Social Enterprise and its operations. The unit introduces the key features of enterprises' mission, vision, and core values. It also highlights the importance of creating an organizational culture that is visible and based on core values that are not visible.

    Examples of the mission and vision of Social Enterprises are also presented, as well as a set of core values most commonly found in Social Enterprises. We also highlight the importance of alignment between core values and organizational culture and enterprises' actions and behaviour on the other.

    It is crucial that the mission, vision, and core values are articulated in a way that makes clear what the Social Enterprise's contribution is to improving society and social change, and what the Social Enterprise can contribute to improving society.

    This unit will help participants formulate an appropriate mission, vision, and core values for Social Enterprises, which will adequately support the Social Enterprise's activities and increase its visibility in the environment, as they will formulate an appropriate message that reflects its actual activities and contribution to the betterment of society.
