  • An image representing Social Economy environment

The expectations of Social Enterprises toward Local Public Authorities are important because they highlight how these organizations can contribute to social, economic and environmental goals within a community. Understanding and aligning these expectations can improve collaboration, reduce regulatory hurdles and enhance the effectiveness of both Social Enterprises and local governments in achieving positive community impacts. If local governments and Social Enterprises have aligned expectations this would ensure that both parties work towards common goals with mutual respect and a shared understanding of responsibilities.

  • This unit explains why local public authorities should actively support SEs and demonstrates the mutual benefits of such collaboration: enhanced local economic development, improved social inclusion, and greater access to essential services. It introduces key platforms and mechanisms for engagement, such as local councils, public consultations, and partnerships with SEs to develop responsive policy initiatives.

Participants will explore a range of survey methods, from digital questionnaires to in-depth interviews, learning how to select and implement the best approach based on resources, target audience, and desired outcomes. Also, the micro-lecture emphasizes practical tools and best practices, equipping participants with skills to ensure reliable, meaningful data collection.

Key themes include designing effective questions, engaging SE leaders, and ensuring data reliability. By mastering these skills, participants can better capture the voice of SEs, making them invaluable contributors to community-oriented policymaking.

This unit provides the tools needed to conduct impactful surveys, enabling local governments to connect more closely with social enterprises and foster stronger, more resilient communities.
